hibernate

I use windows 7 profesional, if I setting hibernate on the power option and I close my laptop , i have a problem with my windows if i want to opened . The problem is blank or hang and i must restart to back normal but if i setting shutdown on the power option , i don't have any problem with my windows if I opened.
This is a normal or something problem with my windows ?

It's a laptop thing. Usally when using hibernate, in a laptop, is for only short periods of time and there is no need to close the laptop. If your going to leave for longer period than, lets say a couple of hours, then just power down and close the laptop. That's what I have mine do.
