Help getting VPN to work

On my company laptop that runs Windows XP, I'm able to create a VPN connection when I'm at work or home. When I follow the same procedure for my home PC which runs Windows 7, I'm unable to connect. Our "tech guy" doesn't know what the issue is as we compared his Windows 7 configuration to mine and didn't see any differences.

Any ideas?

Do you get any errors when trying to connect and did you follow the "Set up a new connection or network" wizard for VPN? I've got one set up here and it works ok. :)
