I have my Dell Inspiron 530s connected to a Samsung HD TV monitor for use as a media center. When I power off my monitor, it causes the computer to shutdown/crash. When I turn the monitor back on, the computer restarts itself, occasionally going to a black screen giving startup options. The video card is a GeForce 9400 and has the latest driver from nvidia. The monitor is connected via a HDMI/DVI cable. After a few days of looking for a solution, I have no idea what might be causing this.
It worked previously with Vista home premium. I did a clean install of W7RC1.

Solution!

:) The solution was using an older Vista driver (ver. 181.2). Everything works great now! The new Win7 drivers are buggy. Hopefully nvidia will have a fix out soon.

I was gonna say, I was stumped as to your dilema. I was wondering - you have the latest drivers, and you have taken the appropriate steps.
Glad to know it is all working now :)
