For some time now (i don't even know how long) i have been having BSODs, even back when i was still using windows vista 32bit. i should have done something about it earlier, but i keep putting it off :p well, no more!

it usually happens when theres more stuff going on/open. Recently i found out that it's almost guaranteed to crash if i'm playing Minecraft, watching a movie and have bazillion firefox pages open at the same time. thats unfortunate, because i like doing that. sooo, memory?

i'll spare you my hazy memories of what i read on the bluescreens, since im going to attach the minidumps anyway ( oh come on... i exceeded the filesize limit by ... 0.01?)

heh, my usual nick seems appropriate for this :p

Hello and welcome. Let's get rid of these crashes. :)

1) Uninstall AVG in safe mode with the removal tool you can Google and find.

Reboot and install MSE.

2) Uninstall Daemon Tools normally. Then use this installer/uninstaller to remove sptd.sys, being careful to click Uninstall while using:

DuplexSecure - Downloads

Reboot and install PowerISO to replace it, as the disc emulation is free forever:

http://www.PowerISO.com

3) Update your Marvell Yukon network driver from your motherboard's website:

yk62x64 yk62x64.sys Mon Sep 28 04:19:31 2009

4) Update your Logitech QuickCam driver:

LVPr2M64 LVPr2M64.sys Thu Apr 30 18:42:17 2009

http://www.logitech.com/support-downloads

5) Uninstall UltraMon. It is no good on Windows 7:

UltraMonUtility UltraMonUtility.sys Thu Nov 13 20:10:30 2008

6) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete these faulty drivers:

KMWDFILTER KMWDFILTER.sys Wed Apr 29 02:20:48 2009
PxHlpa64 PxHlpa64.sys Mon Dec 10 18:49:01 2007

Reboot.

7) Uninstall MotionJoy software or similar that you have for the XBOX controller. It is no good on Windows 7:

xusb21 xusb21.sys Thu Aug 13 18:10:17 2009

8) Update your Hauppage tv card driver. If there is no update, then remove the card from the system:

Ph3xIB64 Ph3xIB64.sys Fri May 08 17:11:49 2009

------------

You have to follow everything I've shown. If not, the system will not be well ever. Enjoy! :)

hey, thanks for the quick answer

use the Microsoft security stuff? really? ... is it even any good?

no way im uninstalling ultramon. unless you know anything similar that has the same indespensable features.

i don't have any motionjoy software. i don't even know what it is, nor do i know how to remove it if it really is somewhere hidden on my system.

theres no update for the hauppage card afaik, but i can't remove it either. i'm using it, after all.

MSE is the best of the best. The only antivirus out of all of them that can not and does not crash Windows. I wouldn't recommend any other a/v no matter what.

I sincerely think this is great. You come to me for help, I give you the best professional advice in the entire world that it is literally impossible for you to find better, even if you paid millions of dollars (meaning money can not even buy you better advice), and then you tell me no way you are going to follow. Please find some place else for help as I do not wish to waste time defending the advice given.

Best of luck.

wow.... just wow. arrogant much?

considering that microsoft doesn't have that much of an impressive history in virus protection in all that, it's very much appropriate to want to know why exactly that would be the best one.

considering that ultramon gives me features that i had been sorely missing as soon as i connected my second monitor, it's very much appropriate to ask if there isn't an alternative, since it's so important. not to mention that i had these crashes long before i installed ultramon

i don't know about any motionjoy stuff so it's appropriate to ask what and where that is!

and again, the TV card is important.so i'm just saying that i can't just go and remove it.

yes, of course i'm going to follow all and any suggestion, but if theres doubts or problems, they have to be voiced. specially when i have no idea who you are and this is just over the net and I have to follow your suggestions and hope not to break anything

It's not arrogant at all when someone is speaking the truth, such as I have done above. I do not intend it as that.

Let me restate it for you in a clearer and easier to understand manner, and what will hopefully be the most helpful to your technologically challenged machine. I mean it well. If you decide not to follow my advice above, the machine will continue crashing. If you decide to follow my advice above, keeping as precisely and perfectly accurate to the last detail, your machine will have perfect stability.
