Hard to believe there is not a global fix for "Could not find this item" error

I do a lot of deleting and moving image files, and I find that the only fix for the "Could not find this item" is one where I have to move to command prompt to delete each single file.
Is there any patch for such a major type of OS problem, where I can just move
files and have them automatically disappear (like we have known the move command
to do for 20 years or more)?
