I am having problems with saving pictures into my documents or setting a
background with a picture from the internet. Everytime I try to do one of
these things, I get a message saying "Access Denied". Any suggestions?

I'm thinking with a Vista mind here, but basically the idea would be the
same, and should apply to Win 7 equivalent.

How are you saving the image and/or setting it as background ?

i.e. saving the image first, then going to "Personalize" and setting the
background, or right clicking the image and clicking (on the context menu)
"Set Image as Background" (or similar wording)?

Have you tried the above, but logged on with an Administrator level account?
(not sure if that would make any difference)

Are you saving to the correct "My Documents" folder i.e. the one for your
profile? If you were saving to a My Documents folder for another user, you
would get that "denied" error but I assume you're the sole user of your PC
with no other user accounts set up.

Stop trying to go to "My Documents". It will show up in the file/folder
navigation but it's no longer a folder. It's a "Junction Point".

New location (introduced in Vista) is
%SystemDrive&\Users\&USERNAME%\Documents

Thank you both for your help. I will look into this.
