freezes in 2 email sites

18 month old Acer laptop with Windows 7; had been working fine for 18 months.
Recently it freezes, dead, when directed to either excite.com or yahoo.com (can not log into those sites) but it seems to work fine on gmail.com or other sites.
isn't that funny? What to do?
Right, we could quit using those two, but that would be a considerable hassle.

Are you using IE? What version?

Possibilities:
1.Try clearing your cache.
You can do it from the options menu or for an all-round cleaning including the cache I like to run CCleaner.

2.Try using a different browser.

Have you scanned for malware?
