The Mozilla newsgroup are thatta way ---> mozilla.*

If your NNTP server doesn't carry the Mozilla newsgroups, connect your
NNTP client to their server (news.mozilla.org).

Just a suggestion not to store passwords in Firefox (or any other Web
browser) at all. I used to do that, but synchronizing was a pain and
there were some Web pages where Firefox was unable to save passwords.

I use the free KeePass and I'm very happy with it. It can *generate*
secure passwords if you wish, and it can do any auto-typing you wish,
based on the window title. It's also quite easily installed on a USB
stick, so I have all my passwords in a handy portable yet secure
form.

Be sure to back up that usb stick. They can be written to
only x number of times before failure sets in.

KeePass has an Android version which seems compatible with the Windows
version.

I just took a look at their site, http://keepass.info. I see versions
for Linux/Mac OS-X, iPhones, U3 devices, Windows phones, and more...

They might not all be fully compatible with the base version, that's
unclear to me in the 30 seconds I spent there :)

The USB stick is a secondary copy; the primary is my actual computer,
which of course is backed up regularly.

So your contention is that all users of Firefox read the firefox
newsgroups, so there is no reason to warn users of a *potential*
issue ?

I agree, after all isn't the name of this newsgroup Windops7.GENERAL?
Just going by the name I would assume that this newsgroup covers not
only the Windows 7 OS, but any program that runs on it as well.

Absolutely correct. This thread was appropriate & useful.
Newsgroup police represent a psychological profile in and of itself whereby
an individual validates himself by assigning some level of self importance.
They are more of an impedance to the valuable sharing & flow of information
on the internet. As with anyone who has personal issues and feels compelled
to assert themselves, they should not be encouraged through the defense of
the validity of a thread. This is what they seek. Furthermore, out of
compassion, neither should they be vilified. Once a reply is identified as
reflective of a self-appointed newsgroup police officer, the post should be
quietly ignored.
Just sayin'.

I think we can take that as read, in a Windows newsgroup. But though
you seem to think it's an answer to the OP, it's not. Using Windows
7 or not Windows 7 is irrelevant to choice of news server.

On what do you base your claim? I see no mention of this in the Mozilla
Firefox group.

As a user of Firefox, I looked at this post several days ago. One thing I
have learned is that if the post goes more than one day the only thing you
will find is mindless idiots who have nothing else to do but argue about
their superiority in the news group world. Generally these idiots waste
more bandwidth with their useless drivel. If you don't like what someone
posts don't respond and then no one has to waste his time opening a thread
that has nothing to do with what the original poster asked.

What in the world are you talking about?
