Failure Configuring

When I turn computer on I get the following message. “Failure Configuring Windows updates reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer” I left it on for over an hour and nothing happens; can you please advise a fix?

Boot the computer to safe mode (Turn it off, then power it on, as it boots up repeatedly press & release F8 until you get the options menu (if you see the start screen then you missed it, start over)). Once in safe mode search for "restore point" & restore your computer to a point before the problems began.
