SOLVED .exe issue

I've read NUMEROUS forums about .exe's not opening and most of them seem to be from the .exe's not being configured correctly. However, in each and every case, there was an error message. My issue is similar, but not the same. On occasion in can open one, most of the time i cant. The reason mine isn't the same is because the program will open in my taskmanager but will not open. It stops at about 100 memory. This has been a recurring issue after every reboot. I can restart in safe mode and everything works fine (which is what im doing now). Any input at all would be great, as im completely stuck at this point.


EDIT - Meant to add that Eset nod32, Norton, and AVG state that there is no infection. And Malware Bytes states that there is no malware.

Do you have a Restore Point that is dated before this problem started?

No, my earliest restore point didnt fix it.

A: Do you have all those antivirus app's installed ? Or were they online scans ? If you have more than 1 active antivirus app's installed, you're asking for headaches. Remember only 1 active antivirus program. Numerous antispyware programs are ok. B: Try updating the definitons of whatever active antivirus software, Malwarebytes and add SUPERAntiSpyware free (http://www.SUPERAntiSpyware.com) to the mix. install SUPERAntiSpyware free and let it update it's definitions. Restart your pc and keep pressing the F8 key and select Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode, run full scans with your antivirus software, Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware and let each remove and infections. After that you may want to run the following Administrative Command Prompt while in Safe Mode. Type cmd into the Start Menu's search box, right-click on cmd.exe and select Run As Administrator. Now type in the following command and hit enter sfc /scannow .

No i currently only have Eset Nod32 as an active antivirus. Im thinking it has something to do with my inability to update because they both started at about the same time, but ill definately give your suggestion a try.

So I used the superantispyware and found 981 issues xD so far that seems to have fixed it, however i still cant get my update to work so time to get to work on that i guess. Huge thanks for that.

Run whatever scans you want but do it in safemode.

All of the scans were done in safemode. and the sfc /scannow came up clean

Many viruses protect themselves so they notice if an AV is trying to find them. I suggest you download and run 2 or 3 versions of RKill (they are all the same program but with different filenames or extensions so they fool the virus) and see if it detects any virus running resident in memory. Once RKill has stopped the virus protection then you should run malwarebytes or superantispyware etc.

I did try the AV's and nothing came up, however, as I was updating windows the .exe error came back. Repeating the steps above didn't fix it again for some reason. At this point I just want to compress my D: Drive, export it to an external, and start from fresh.

Formatting the HD and reinstalling may be a very good idea. After you do that be sure to install a good AV and then scan your backed up data before using it or moving it anywhere, just to be sure there is nothing hiding there.

I noticed your notebook computer comes stock with an ATI HD 5470 video card. Did you change it out for an Nvidia GeForce 330M card as your computer specs state?

Just curious, that may cause some issues if the notebook was built for that video card.

Nope. My laptop actually came with the Nvidia Geforce. My girlfriend has an identical one (ordered from bestbuy at the same time) and its the same specs as mine. Might as well call this closed. I've reformatted and it isnt doing it anymore, however, i reran the spyware program mentioned above before the reformat and it fixed the .exe so i believe it was a spyware issue.
