Ok, so I haven't had a BSOD in a while, but now I have
So I've finally figured out it is caused by WMP since the Tuesday patch.

What can I do? I miss my music, and I'm too lazy to update my iPod. AND there is no crash dump...

No, WMP can not cause bsods and neither do patches. Post the crash dumps in the future, if you want.

The thing is, my computer only BSOD's when I *try* to run WMP for more than 2mins.
And as I allready said, there are no crash dumps.

Um, no. It's 100% fact and you can believe it because I said it.

Software can not cause bsods, if you'd like to learn something here.

Only drivers or faulty hardware can.

Software without drivers, like WMP, can not cause bsods.

Thanks for your understanding.

MSFTs on MSDN have confirmed BSOD-causing bugs in WMP before. Random guy on a forum vs people who know what they're talking about... Tough call.

Tell him to install MSE.

WMP can not cause bsods. Believe as you will.

If you're referring to me as "random guy", I'll have you know that I've repaired more bsods on Windows 7 than anyone in the entire world.

Firecat, please make a screen shot of CPU-Z memory tab and spd tab. Attach here so I can look at your memory settings.

Ok. I will when a bit later.

By the way - technically a driver IS a software, that make the hardware work properly. Right?

Yes, you are correct.

If you read my post, it was clear that WMP does not have drivers, and thus can not cause bsods.

What it is doing to you is finding the weakness on your machine, whether it be your network driver, video driver, sound driver or your faulty or misconfigured RAM.
