You should find the EXIF data embedded in the image has the time (from
the camera's clock) that the picture was taken, though editing the image
may change the time to the edited time.

Look at the various tabs under image properties in explorer ...

I;m talking about date stamping the pictures. once I transfer them from
camera to the computer, there's no way to date stamp the pictures under
easyshare & photosmart software.

I think date stamping is possible thru one of the hp photosmart
printer/scanners.

There are two kinds of date stamps and I'm not sure which one you're
talking about. The first kind of date stamp is automatically supplied
by most digital cameras at the time the photo is taken. This date
stamp is embedded within the file itself, in the EXIF data, and is
readable by other software. The second kind of date stamp is where the
date (and optionally the time) are superimposed on the photo itself.
This kind of date stamp is human readable and if not added when the
photo was taken, can be added after the fact by numerous editing
programs.

Which are you looking for?

I think he means the latter. He needs to find a program that can add
that data to his pictures as a visible stamp.

And to the OP - the date the picture was taken is just that, and is not
changed by manipulating the picture, unless you get one of the programs
that can edit the EXIF data.

I was muddy in my explanation. :(

My mistake.

I thought you didn't know, when I remembered:
"...though editing the image may change the time to the edited time".

But it was Sunny Bard who said that, not you.
