critical error message sound, but no message

this happens about twice a day, I'll randomly get a 'critical' error message sound, but there is no error message!!! it is NOT when a particular program is open or anything, and it happens sometimes when I am away from the computer!!! does anybody know what is going on???

Download Malwarebytes and scan the entire system in safe mode.
