Cosmetic bug in Win7

If you right click on the desktop (as I've been doing) and choose menu item
"Sort by", there's no bullet indicating the current sort. A minor bug but
still a surprising one, considering!

Not on my system.

I just check mine on Win 7 Pro x64 and there is a bullet by Name when I select Sort by.

That's because they are probably on your desktop in a random order as
placed by you. I sort my desktop shortcuts so similar items are grouped
together, not by any of the options under the sort order menu.

Have you tried choosing a sort method from the menu? If not, try it and
then go back and look at the sort menu to see if it is 'bulleted'.

I guess I don't quite understand what you're saying. My Sort menu has four options:
Name
Size
Item type
Date modified

I can select any one of the options, my icons resort, and the next time I check the menu it has the bullet by the option selected. I normally leave the option to sort by Name.

How else would one sort their icons?
