CorelDraw 9 compatibility.

Just thought I'd let anyone who is wondering know that CorelDraw 9
(the entire suite) installs perfectly on Windows 7 x64. I tried to
install CorelDraw 8, and couldn't make it run properly -- it
always gave errors. I had a copy of CorelDraw 9 kicking around and
figured I'd give it a go ... what the heck, right? ... to my
surprise, it installed and runs flawlessly. I did omit the
multimedia add-on, so I can't say for sure that particular add-on
will install without a burp, but CorelDraw 9 and Corel Photo-Paint
9, along with other add-ons in the Corel suite, run without a hitch.

I don't have CorelDraw, (I use Xara Xtreme for vector drawing) but do use
Paint Shop Pro.
PSPX2 runs better in Windows 7 than it did in XP, although some plugins,
which haven't been supported for a long time, refuse to work.

When CorelDraw 8 wouldn't work at all, I figured no way is the
next version up going to install, but surprise, it did.

Most software runs fine on W7 x64. The only thing I can't get to
work is my Epson scanner, and that's only because Epson never got
around to writing an x64 driver for it, all through the life of Vista.

Installation Disk CoralDraw 9

Hi,
I just tripped across your old post about CoralDraw 9. I was wondering if there is any way you might be able to let me use your Installation Disk.
Recently, I had my computer crash and after I got it back the whole OS had been replaced. Now all I have is all my training material files that I made for the fire dept but I have no way to access them. I do have my own inst disk somewhere but unfortunately we moved to a new home and these disks are in one of about 60 storage boxes. I can't seem to lay my hands on them. They are registered to me but they are hiding.
Can you help me?

You might be interested in this microsoft registry fix. "Information about certain file types that are blocked after you install Office 2003 Service Pack 3"

Coreldraw 9 on windows 7 64 bit is....wonky. Works on one of my machines just fine, trouble on the other.

My main problem is that I can not copy from coreldraw 9 and paste into office 2007 word. If I do a paste special, and select "Picture (windows metafile)" it does work. So...I guess it still "works" with some features not availble.

I have recently installed CorelDraw 9 on my Dell computer with Windows 7 and everything looks fine, but I cannot open any files or save any work. Nothing is "greyed out" so I can click on "open" but nothing happens.
Shortcuts (control + O, control + S) don't work either. I have had this installed on this computer before, but we had a lightning strike and the system was completely replaced. Any thoughts?

May not be directly relevant but I have got CorelDraw 8 working in Windows 8.1 by setting the compatibility to 'Windows 95' (find the exe file, rightclick->properties->Compatibility tab->compatibility button.)

Even set at 'Windows 98/ME' it just fell over whenever an 'open' dialogue appeared.

I know for a fact that corel draw 9 and corel photopaint 9 will work with windows 10. The only feature that does not work is you can not click on a .cdr file name, and have it automatically open in corel draw. You have to open corel draw first, then navigate in corel draw to the file location to open it.

Ebay should have cheap copies of corel 9 for sale.
