Hello
Please forgive my bad english as i am not native english.

my computer tends to crash allot latelly back in the day i thought my PSU whas the problem
because it only hade 600watts (i have a GTX460 2win in sli)
and it used to get a BSOD code that showed me that there was a power shortage

i have since upgraded my psu with a coolermaster silent pro 850watts which should be sufficient

but im experiancing crashes...
they are totally random they dont happen all the time but most of the time when im playing LoL or scrolling in IE

the crash doesnt consist of a BSOD code that i used to get
i hope its my ram that causes this issue
but its looking more and more towards my gpu

i have checked my tempratures of the cpu idle is around 35/40c and load 50/60c
which is normal for this cpu

i have also checked the tempratures of my gpu which are around 40/50 in idle and 60/70 in load
i also have a special fan profile for when the gpu's heat up

i have found a crash dumpfile
i have no clue what they mean and whas hoping some of you people could help me fix this issue

see attachments for files
some extra information about the crash
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA80042214E0
BCP2: FFFFF88010116AE4

BSOD BugCheck: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (0x116)
This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout has failed causing the system exception which created by blue screen for you. The default timeout value should be around 5 seconds.
Code:
CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz"
MaxSpeed: 3300
CurrentSpeed: 3310
You don't seem to be overclocking anything though, your cpu cycles in at around 3.30 Ghz which is where it should be. The driver it's pointing to here is at nvlddmkm.sys, which is your nVidia graphics driver. Make sure that you have the most updated nVidia drivers.

Overheating and powersupply issues could be possible causes for this particular stop error (0x116). This is a less common stop error to see, but most of the time i've seen it, it was due to overheating. I would check your internal core temps to make sure that they aren't too high. To check for heating problems on your GPU I would suggest a program called CPU-Z which is available here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

You can also do a GPU Stress test here: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
Check for any warnings in device manager under the display area, and also your event viewer.
If we don't find an issue here, I would suggest that you also try running System File Checker to see if there's any corrupt system files. To use it, open command prompt and type this in:
Code:
sfc /scannow
This should repair any corrupted system file entries.
Last resort would be to do a reinstall for that particular driver. Make sure you reboot after uninstall, boot the machine back up, then reinstall, and reboot once more for changes to take effect when the system starts again. A good program to use for uninstalling drivers would be a program called Driver Sweeper.

Did you do the stress tests I mentioned in the first post, and what were the confirmed temperatures that your card was reading?

Please let me know when you get the chance :)

the scores wheren around 3450 points with around 34500 frames
i dont think this is a hardware issue :/

i also preformed the sfc /scannow command it dint help...

86 Celcius is absolutely above normal however. That's getting a bit hot for your GPU to be honest. Try pointing a fan directly at your GPU while operating your computer, and see if you notice a slight difference. You may want to find some alternative cooling methods. Most average core temps for the GPU ranges usually from 45-60 Celcius. 100 Celcius is pretty much the dead danger zone that you don't want to start nearing.

eh this is a GTX460 2WIN 2 gpu's on 1 PCB
its normal for this card to become that hot when stressed hard...

i wont be able to do anything against these cards running this hot... the fans where already running at full speed....

im a Hardware guy my self i kno that the operating range for the GTX460 series is around 40-80

not to mention that this card never even reaches that temprature since most of the games dont even requier that much power
especially not League of Legends
(it idles around 35C/40C)

I'm positively certain that this is a hardware issue, as you've already tried updating your driver, and changing it's version around. The majority of the time, i've seen that this bugcheck is either caused by overheating, or drivers that need updating. But more often than not it's usually an overheating indication.

Edit: Hold on, i'm going to review your BSOD Minidump for one more thing...

I would uninstall AVG and go with Microsoft Security Essentials, downloadable from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

AVG is also a somewhat common BSOD cause as well as Avast, Microsoft Security Essentials is a great security tool if you're looking for something free but i've never heard anything good about AVG and never experienced much good with AVG personally. If you could uninstall that and install MSE to test.

I would also like to know the report from System File Checker if you would?

This error though has always been a pain to debug, especially if it's not an overheating issue becuase that means it can be a number of things afterwards. [Reminder:: If you receive any recent BSOD's please post them in your future replies as they will help me analyze the issue further!]

The best thing about MSE is that it's very lightweight on computer resources as well, but it's got a very high detection rate.

System File Checker is an executable in your Windows directories that is used through command prompt. It parses command line arguments into specific instructions that tell it what you want to scan and what it repairs.

To use it:
1) Start menu, type in "Run" (without quotes) and hit enter to open the Run command
2) Type "cmd" (without quotes) and hit enter
3) In command prompt type in the following command:
Code:
sfc /scannow
It will take some time, but once it's done it will output the results to CBS.log and notify you whether it's actions were successful or not and whether it needed to take action based on the file integrity check.

issue was found pc no longer crashes

there are some known bugs with the Nvidia HD audio controllers on GTX400 series gpu's
they tend to conflict with the onboard audio controller which makes the pc crash
i have dissabled both HD audio controllers on both GPU's and so far havent been crashing
it looks like Nvidia will have to patch this issue however there is a manual fix for this problem
its some sort of IRQ issue

for those who have been experiancing the same problems with any GTX400 series cards i would suggest u to do the following steps

THIS MIGHT HAVE TO BE REPEATED WITH EACH DRIVER UPDATE

1. go into device manager- go under display adapters go into your GTX 400 series Card and see what says for
location.. E.G. "PCI bus 18 "
2. go under system devices
3. you will see two HD audio devices.. check them both to see which one matches your GTX 400 series pci bus
location. disable (not uninstall) the one that matches your 400 series card.
4. check under sound devices and it should no longer be there (this step might or might not require a restart)
FOR SLI SYSTEMS THERE WILL BE AN HD SOUND DEVICE FOR EACH CARD
^^ THIS MIGHT HELP TO CLEAR UP YOUR LOGIN FREEZE AND BLACK SCREEN ISSUES
I ALSO RECOMMEND UNINSTALLING THE SURROUND DRIVERS UNLESS OTHERWISE NEEDED AND CHANGING THE NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL TO "SINGLE DISPLAY PERFORMANCE MODE" (this will help with flickering) AND SET TO MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE POWER MODE
now if you want you can follow these proceedures to clean out your drivers) although you might not have to. but
it is a good idea to clean your drivers after this and steps 1-6 are a template on how to uninstall and reinstall display drivers. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU AND I HOPE THIS HELPS

1. Download Driver Sweeper and driver cleaner and install them. mainly need driver google them. also down load the latest audio drivers from evga and the latest Nvidia drivers straight from Nvidia.
2. boot up GO INTO PROGRAMS AND FEATURES IN CONTROL PANEL. Uninstall Nvidia Physx and Nvidia surround driver. DO NOT UNINSTALL NVIDIA DRIVERS ON NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL YET.
3. Reboot. Go into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly upon power up)
4. While in SafeMode go into program and features now selected Nvidia Drivers then uninstall them. it will then ask you to reboot the computer DO NOT REBOOT YET SELECT NO.
5. While still in safemode open Driversweeper select nvidia display and click analyze. when it is done click on clean. Then open driver cleaner. click on the box that says "use multiple filters" the select Nvidia, Nvida wdm and nvidia stereo.
6. Once you have finished with driver sweeper and driver cleaner reboot back in to regular mode. open device manager and check to see if your display adapter reads "Generic video adapter" or something along those lines and that it is a microsoft driver. then check your sound drivers to make sure that All 4 Nvidia soundrivers are uninstalled. Once you have verified that all the nvidia drivers are uninstalled REBOOT INTO SAFEMODE.
7. WHILE IN SAFEMODE. Go into open programs and see if there is anything labeled Realtek audio drivers if there is uninstall that. DO NOT REBOOT YET. Open device manager and go to sound devices and select any remaining audio devices and uninstall them. then open driver sweeper and clean out the left over files. After using driver sweeper you can now Reboot into regular mode.
8. After reboot open up device manager and make sure that all the drivers you uninstalled and cleaned out were replaced by Generic Microsoft Drivers. Then install The nvidia display drivers and disable windows automatic updates. Now reboot.
9. after you reboot go into device manager and DISABLE the 4 nvidia sound driver the REBOOT BACK INTO SAFEMODE. Once you are back in safemode open up device manager and uninstall the Nvidia sound drivers. if they won't uninstall then make sure they are disabled in safemode. Reboot
10. Now install or reinstall your onboard audio drivers then reboot.
