I had brought a HP desktop machine into be repaired, and they replaced the motherboard. I then did a format on the computer and it came up with Code Purple. I can't even go past the code purple. Can anyone help me on this?

Apparently it's a booby trap from HP. See HERE.

Found THIS (specifically Comment #104). Not sure if the folders/solution is still the same in W7 but probably worth a try...

Access Command Prompt from the boot disc

Type

c: cd C:\hp\bin\CheckDMI
rename CheckDMI.cmd CheckDMI
