Change picture of device

On the Devices panel, the picture for my UPS looks like an old-fashioned
coffee percolator. Is there any way to change the picture? It's not
important but I wondered.

Hi, James.

The pictures in Devices and Printers vary in portraiture accuracy, don't
they. ;<}

Some of mine (HP 8500 printer, Microsoft 6000 keyboard and mouse) are very
good pictures. But the others (TV, USB storage - even fax and other
functions in the same printer/scanner/copier) are just generic icons for
such devices. My APC UPS does not show up in Devices and Printers at all.

As I understand it, some of these pictures come directly from the hardware
manufacturers; Microsoft fills vacancies with the generic pix. At least
some of the information comes from the device driver, so you may need to
update yours from the manufacturer's web site. The Help button in D&P will
lead you to several topics for information

I suspect the picture used for the UPS is as up to date as possible
since I bought it new together with my W7 machine. Oh well, I don't have
to look at the "coffee pot" very often. The space ship depicted on the
cover of Lee and Miller's "Ghost Ship" looks more like my UPS!
