What does the onscreen message: Click on catcher plug in for Netscape, Chrome, and Opera, mean. If I don't know where it is, I can't click on it, and it just appears on an otherwise blank screen with no clickable links.

I've never seen that before. It may refer to a plugin you have installed in your browser or it may be suggesting you install one.

Are you in a browser window? What browser? What website URL?

Post a screenshot if you can

Thanks Trainable Man. I have switched browsers and am now using firefox. I have also installed Spy Hunter as I was having nightmare pop ups and ads and re-directions to other sites. That seems to have cleared up the problem for me.
