I was just curious if I could load the entire OS on my memory. I have 16GB available, that way it wouldn't access the hard drive and boot faster, right? TIA

The closest you can do to that effect is to disable the pagefile, but you're not going to notice any performance gain.

If you want a performance boost, switch to a SSD drive, unless of course you already have one.

Hello forest.lawn! Welcome the the Windows 7 Forums website!

I concur with Core, that is an SSD is your best bet for a fast speedy boot-up and system.

Your RAM is actually called: SDRAM or Synchronous dynamic random access memory. What this means is that every time you power off your system, what ever is stored in RAM is lost.
