Hey I saw a Compaq laptop model Presario CQ45 and not much I know about it but it's very cheap. In Malaysia currency it's only RM 899 but after I convert it to US dollar it's 294.35 USD. something like that, and the Processor is Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU B830 @ 1.80 GHz and for RAM is 2.00 GB and last is system type 32-Bit Operating system. So I do want to know that can that laptop play any game, I mean like Call of duty, Gears of war, GTA something like, I read review that for gaming laptop need good GHz and RAM but I just want to know that can that laptop running smoothly?:)

You need to look up each games system requirements.

Quite honestly a single core Celeron processor isn't very powerful, plus only 2GB RAM. And you didn't even say how big the hard drive is. In the USA that would be lucky to sell for $125 (382MYR).

Can it play "any" games? Sure! It will easily be able to play any of the games that come with Windows, kids games, and other games that do not use the latest 3D animated features.

Call of duty, Gears of war, GTA
Not likely - at least not very well. But it is important to remember that game makers know most users cannot afford $3,000 gaming rigs so they code their games to provide good "game play" even with lessor machines. But in doing so, you will not be able to enjoy the advanced gaming features, super detailed backgrounds and animations supported on more powerful systems.

While those are certainly critical, IMO, there is no such thing as a good gaming notebook. The problem is cooling. Even big gaming PCs struggle to provide adequate cooling and at least with big PC rigs, you can pop open the side and blast out all the heat trapping dust sucked in by the fans. The vast majority of notebooks are NOT designed for easy user access to the innards for thorough cleaning.

Notebooks are incapable of supporting many large fans and adequate cool air flow through the tiny notebook cases. So while notebook makers can pack the horsepower in those tiny cases, they cannot pack the necessary cooling too. So what happens? Notebooks toggle down in speed to reduce heat. But that, of course, toggles down performance too.

Bottom line, that "entry-level" notebook, with that very entry-level CPU, tiny amount of RAM (of which a big chunk is stolen for the integrated graphics) will not make a good game machine.

Well I just bought a Acer with 2GB RAM and Celeron 899 and 320 hard drive for $249, though games do lag
