BUllGuard anti-virus, security suite

I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm looking for some advice / user experience.

My licence for BullGuard is due for renewal soon. I know that there are a plethora of programs out there that do the same / similar job...Symantec, Kaspersky, AVG, McAfee etc. However, what I want to know is...am I wasting my cash renewing BullGuard? Should I be "investing" it elsewhere, in a better piece of software?
