This problem keeps occuring on my laptop and I can't seem to get rid of it.

Here is one description of the problem:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000064
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF880048F3BBE
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\013111-25989-01.dmp

I'll try and attach the latest minidump file if I can.

That's usually a permissions issue.

Go to your C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy the .dmp files to a new folder on your desktop. Zip up that folder and attach to a post.
I tried that but it didn't work. I got the same message.

Ok. False alarm. It seems I didn't have Enable Small Memory Dump selected. I had Kernel or something selected.

It looks as though I'll now have to wait until the problem occurs again before attaching the file.

The D1 code refers to a device driver as being the cause. While you're waiting to crash again, download and run DriverView from Nirsoft. With the DriverView window in focus, select all (Ctrl+A) then File > Save selected Items. Save as a txt file and attach to a post. We may be able to spot potential rogue drivers and start clearing them up. A pre-emptive strike, so to speak.

Thanks for your help.

I am running Windows 7 64bit. I assume I need to download DriverView for x64? Apologies for what is probably a silly question! :D

Another random question.

When I locate the minidump folder by typing C:\Windows\Minidump into the search box it shows one minidump folder.

When I access the folder and search for it again, two folders are displayed in the search results. Only one is displayed when I investigate via My Computer though.

I'm a little confused by this.

I don't know for sure, it could well be because it gets put into your "recent" folder.

Interesting. I was more curious than anything else.

I think you may well be right as I've just tried it again (without deleting or moving anything) and only one is showing up in the search results.

I guess you learn something new every day!

Is the attached file any use? Does anything stand out?

There may be others. This was just a very quick run through to spot the obvious ones.
As a Priority:

Norton is known to be a cause of BSOD's on Windows 7 systems. I suggest that you uninstall Norton using the Norton Removal Tool in Safe Mode. Download Blue Screen friendly Microsoft Security Essentials as its replacement. Make sure Windows firewall is enabled!

I was just about to check out the drivers above, and it crashed again!

I've attached the MiniDump file. I hope I've done it right! Hope you manage to make some sense of it, because I can't even open it!

It let me zip it up, which is more than it let me do yesterday. I'm hoping that's due to me changing the options as mentioned previously!
