Boot Disc

Hey all.

Here's my problem.

I've got this nvidia 8800 gt I'm trying to flash the bios for so it can be used on a mac.
Now, I'm not asking for mac help, so don't worry.

What I am asking is some help with setting up a boot disc.

I, for some reason, thought this would be easier than it has been, but alas, it's been a real pain

I'm not sure exactly what to do to get a usb drive to boot, and I've been unsuccessful with boot cds. I made one with the win 98se dos files that boots fine, but I don't know what to do to the disc during burning to get it to see the files I'm trying to add. I followed this one guys tutorial on making a boot disc with img burn from youtube, and it was pretty straight forward, except the disc I make doesn't end up having a "boot" folder that I can insert files into.

I actually ended up getting a floppy drive out of frustration, only to find my motherboard doesn't have an ide port for floppy drives. Which makes me wonder, is there a way to get a floppy drive to work on the larger ide ports, like some kind of cable or something.

Anyway.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Randizzl

What file system are you wanting on the USB flash drive?
fat16, fat32, or ntfs

Are you wanting a boot manager placed on the drive?

Who you calling fat?

I'm sure fat32 would be fine, optimal really.
I'm not sure I need a boot manager. I'm a bit ignorant as to what that would do for me.

I just need to get into a low level system environment so I can run the nvflash executable and flash this video card's bios.

Nope

Yea, I did Bart's thing.
It did nothing.
I followed his steps exactly, and it simply wouldn't boot my usb drive.
I mean, I'm not an idiot and know how to set my bios and all.

Completely unsuccessful.

Wrong Direction

Well, I looked those over but I'm not wanting to make something bootable in order to install windows, or any operating system for that matter. I just want to flash the bios of a video card.
