Hello,

I am receiving the blue screen of death when running intensive games. (Crysis 2 is a big problem). I have checked my driver software for my graphics card which seems to be OK.

How do I go about fixing this problem?

Hi nevica.

STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Usual causes:
Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS.

Your dump file lists "Unknown_Image ( ANALYSIS_INCONCLUSIVE )" as the probable cause. This doesn't really say a lot!
Your current dump drivers list is looking good, as is (to me) your RAM timings.

I'd consider running memtest86+ at this stage, just to make sure your RAM is OK.
Run Memtest86+ overnight, after your computer has been off for about an hour or two so it has a cold start. Let it run for at least 7 passes / 6-8 hours. If errors appear before that you can stop that particular test.
Note!! Any time Memtest86+ reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad Mobo slot. Test RAM sticks individually. When you find a good one then test it in all slots.Analysis:

Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffaa009157ab0, memory referenced.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: fffff800030f762d, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
    address.

As an afterthought it might also be worth downloading, updating and running a scan with Malwarebytes'.

If you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

So you think that it could be RAM that is the problem? Is this certain? Might it be a problem with the graphics card or driver?

I'm suggesting that only on the stop code information.
Depending on how old your graphics card to how long you've had bsods, it won't hurt to "re-seat" your graphics card. The drivers are very new if not the newest. I'm not aware of the drivers you have giving problems.

There are newer drivers available for your USB3 setup:
nusb3hub.sys Fri Apr 23 02:34:35 2010
nusb3xhc.sys Fri Apr 23 02:34:36 2010
through your Mobo Mfr., or possibly through Renesas Support. If you've any other recent minidump files you can attach, it would possibly be a help. Would have a bigger arrow to point with then!!

Its a brand new computer (6 weeks old) and it has bsods about once every 5 - 7 days.

I am running a brand new graphics card. The very latest from NVidia (560 TXi).

Sorry, its the only minidump I have after I set it up last week.

Sorry for the late reply.
If it's a brand new PC, It's well worth running memtest 86+.
As the dump file is indicating (possibly) faulty RAM, now is as good a time as any to confirm/dismiss this.
You can then, if faulty, get it exchanged/RMA'ed. It's not unknown for new RAM to be "faulty".

Also, if you are running a cleaner program such as CCleaner, make sure that the deleting of minidump files is not enabled. I know that CCleaner is set to delete them by default (under the Cleaner > Windows > System headers).

Hi There,

Yes, I agree. Win 7 has an installed mem tester which I'll run first (when I have time) and then run MEMTEST 86+ after.

Thanks,

OK, I'll try running the WIN7 mem test first and then MEMTEST 86+ when I get time.

Hello,

I have run memory test from windows 7 run terminal. Settings were advanced (12 runs with cache). It did not find any problems. I will try running MEMTEST 86+ next. Any suggestions please?

Hello,

I have now run MEMTEST 86+ and havent found anything. I suspect that te blue screen is caused by the graphics card. I'll try changing for anothher one. Is there any way of testing the graphics card?
