Audio Auto Changing

Whenever I have plugged in my headset into my laptop and try to listen to anything involving music, be it youtube or pandora or people streaming games. If a noise plays over the music, the music fades to almost no sound what so ever and will come back after the noise stops. I see this the most when on pandora and switch to a youtube video. the music will lower volume during the video without having been altered.
