Any FREE alternatives for net send in Windows 7

Hmmm, the net send command seems not work in Windows 7, any FREE alternatives to do the instant messaging in LAN?

This is an old thread but I want to be useful posting this message. Net send command has been replaced by msg command in Windows 7. You can see the usage of the command here:

Or else just write msg in the command line and enter. This will give you the usage details of the command.
