Add network drive to library/index

All my music and photos are on a network hard drive. I can get to it fine from Explorer, but I would like to be able to add it to indexinging so I can search through by music and ideally add them both to my library so I can get to them more easily.

I tried to add the folder, but it doesn't let you add network locations like XP does

How can I add them to index?

Hi Sycthus

Are you using WMP(Windows Media Player) for your media player?
If so, have you tried adding the network folder by Managing Libraries from within WMP?


Steps are

1. Open WMP
2. Organize
3. Managing libraries
4. Select a category
5. Add
6. Browse to the network folder
7. Include folder

You can't add network locations to Windows 7 Libraries

Except that you can with this tiny free tool from Zorn Software. I have been using it trouble free for a year since I bought my NAS drive.
