should a 64 bit win7 computer be able to run 32 bit programs?

if so, is there an emulation mode that has to be used?

if so, how do you tell it to run in emulation mode?

Hi RonR - Welcome to w7forums

Windows 7 64-Bit will run both 32-Bit and 64-Bit applications. Install all applications normally and things should be just fine.

Clifford is 100% correct! There is no "Emulation" mode required.
But, whether 32 or 64 Bit, you may find you need to install (and sometimes run) in "compatibility" mode. Right click the installation file (setup.exe: install.exe or whatever) and select from the tabs.
This is not a Bit issues, but, of course, 32Bit programs are likely to be older (XP or further back) and needing the compatibility option.
